Questions

Is it free?

Yes. The desktop window shows Overwolf ads; the in-game overlay never does. An ad-free Premium option is being considered.

How does the app know my civ?

Type your name once. When an online match starts, the app recognises your civ and your opponent's, loads your build and syncs the clock.

Can it get me banned?

MetaAOE does not touch the game: no memory reading, no automated actions. It displays public information in an Overwolf overlay.

The overlay doesn't show up in full screen

Switch the game to borderless windowed (windowed full screen). Exclusive full screen can hide overlays.
